hi
i have a couple of features that would be nice in the 6.0 upgrade. We use smaart live in 2 live venues in the same house to measure spl and spectrum, and also log the spl to a file for future reference. There are several engineers working in the house, which means it needs to be simple so i´d like to see:
1: possibility to use smaart live in windows2000/xp as a restricted user
2: enhanced file naming capabilities, so that the spl history file automatically is named after current date or similar (instead of only saving one BIG file)
3: enhanced Leq logging to file, so that you can automatically log Leq at start up (as with spl history, where the logging starts when you start the analyzer), or even better a "Start Log Leq"-button on the interface to simplify - and with the file naming capabilities mentioned in no 2:
4: multi user identification - a log in option so that you can identify the user from the spl history- and Leq-files
5: possibility to lock the interface, so that no changes can be made by other users than the administrator
6: i´ve run into problems when trying to store the spl history files automatically to network discs that need a log in before access - now i have to store the files to local c: drive, and manually move them to the desired location afterwards (while renaming them... see no 2: ).
7: mini-mode for the interface, so that you can run the program minimized, or have the spl shown in a "floting" window on the desktop (or dockable) to be able to run other programs at the same time while monitoring the spl
8: slicker interface gets a vote from me too ;)
no 4:, 5: and 6: might be solved by extended capabilities to access the application from a network (some kind of multi-license deal with "one licence per venue" or similar, like microsoft have for their products)
These features would be great to have in a future update/-grade and would make it much easier to use for our purposes!
Hopefully m.a
